This will be a hybrid shofar workshop for people of all abilities on the shofar. We will cover the basics of the shofar along with the significance of the shofar for the upcoming Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah). We will also be preparing for sounding the shofar as a group for the Rosh Hashanah service at Messiah’s Hope Church in Trophy Club, TX on Tuesday September 23.

Messiah’s Hope Church will be holding a special Rosh Hashanah Service. There will be the sounding of the shofar with the Shema, a group shofar sounding (with two members of Messiah’s Hope), during the sermon addressing the four main calls of the shofar, and also at the end of the service. Additionally, James will be joined by other shofar sounders from the congregation at the end of the service.

Would you like to learn more about the shofar (the trumpet of the bible)? Our workshop will bring you to a deeper understanding of the role of the shofar in the bible and it’s use today. You will learn all about the different types of shofars as well as hear and experience them. The workshop also includes a group lesson where everyone learns the basics on how to sound a shofar.

If you are more advanced with the shofar this workshiop will be great for you as you will have the opportunity to learn directly from James advanced techniques, ideas, and performance suggestions.

James has shofars available for people to try and buy at the workshop. If you have a shofar please bring it as well. This workshop location is at Messiah’s Hope Congregation in Trophy Club, TX.
